Why I Love Children...

Updated: Nov 27, 2022

They are naturally social creatures and love snuggles, story time and peek-a-boo…

They love pushing buttons, stacking blocks, beating drums, pushing cars, kicking balls, running, jumping, climbing, and exploring every nook and cranny…

They are determined little creatures.. when they are trying to learn something new they will practice it over and over until they perfect it…

They especially love putting objects into containers then taking them out, then putting them back in again… Next time you can’t find their shoes, check the hamper…

They are intrigued with doors and drawers and love to practice opening and closing them…

They find switches equally fascinating and love the thrill of turning lights on and off repeatedly…

Their innocence and positivity is refreshing…

They squeal with excitement over puppies, bugs, bubbles and sprinklers…

They love the simple things in life… cookies, happy face pancakes, smashing their hands in shaving cream, their favorite stuffed animal, a walk along a creek finding salamanders, splashing in puddles and pools, roasting marshmallows, swinging from a favorite tree swing, eating their favorite “junk cereal” on a camping trip, snuggling on the front porch swing, and bed time stories on your lap…

They yell out “Amen” at mass and “more” as the music stops, and capture the hearts of everyone around them…

They see the good in all…

They have no fear, take risks and live in the moment…

They test all boundaries and embrace whatever comes their way…

They are free to explore, ready to trust, open to the world, and eager to learn…

They can brighten up any day and light up the room with their smile…

They give you a smile and a wet kiss on the cheek each morning…

They love unconditionally…

They think you hung the moon…

In this season of Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, lazy summer days, sticky ice cream faces, wet swim suit butts, and endless snuggles, I would like to say…

Enjoy your little miracle(s)…

Blessings,

Angela
